Ivory Coast Manager Search Continues

Former Japan and South Africa coach Philippe Troussier is the latest in a long line of managers to be approached by the Ivory Coast ahead of this summer's World Cup after previous manager Vahid Halilhodzic was sacked following a disappointing African Cup of Nations.

Guus Hiddink is the highest profile name in a list of many that have been invited to fill the vacant Elephants hot-seat, but it appears that former manager Troussier – he managed the side for a short period in 1993 – is now the front runner.

The lack of a figurehead for the Ivory Coast is hardly ideal preparations for the first World Cup to ever be held on the African continent and it begs the question as to whether they are a team to side with at 28/1 to win the World Cup with Boylesports. In fact it raises questions whether they can even qualify from a tough Group G – inculding Brazil, Portugal and North Korea - which they are 10/11 with Betfred to do.
