Binocular Back In Cheltenham Betting Frame
Only one month after being ruled out of the 2010 Cheltenham Festival, the Nicky Henderson trained Binocular could yet make a dramatic u-turn and line-up for the Champion Hurdle on Tuesday. Binocular is said to have shown signs of notable improvement when schooled by jockey Tony McCoy on Wednesday and if he can come through another schooling session today (Friday) then he is expected to be given the go-ahead for the festival.
The JP McManus owned horse was the clear 3/1 favourite for the Champion Hurdle at one stage in this year’s ante-post betting but has also been matched by a few lucky punters at 999/1 on Betfair following Henderson’s initial statement on the withdrawal from the race. He is now an 8/1 shot with Bet365 amongst many other bookmakers whilst Go Native is the 3/1 favourite with most online sportsbooks but can be backed at 7/2 with Ladbrokes.
