Birmingham v Everton Betting Preview – 13/10/2010

Although European football remains a pipe dream Birmingham City are now just two points behind local rivals Aston Villa and they look almost ensured of a top half finish. It is a feat which looked unfathomable at the beginning of the season and is a measure of just how well Alex McLeish and his players have done this season.

This weekend they will entertain a club who are the model to which all newly promoted sides aspire. Everton have now recovered from a poor start to a season which has been ravaged by injuries and are just two points behind their opponents. The aim for both sides is quite obviously to finish as high as possible but defeat for either side would surely dispel any lingering hopes of Europa League qualification.

Birmingham can be backed at 2/1 with Victor Chandler, Everton are the favourites at 6/4 with Skybet and the draw is widely available at 11/5.
