Relegation Threatened Hull Sack Phil Brown
Hull City Chairman Adam Pearson has revealed that the club’s board have relieved manager Phil Brown of his duties with immediate effect. As a result, assistant manager Brian Horton and Steve Parkin will takeover first team duties ahead of this weekend’s crucial trip to Fratton Park.
Hull are three points adrift of Wolves in 17th position and a defeat against bottom club Portsmouth this weekend would be a damning blow to their Premier League survival hopes. They are currently 8/13 with Bet365 to be relegated this season, and with a string of crucial games coming up – Portsmouth (A), Fulham (H), Stoke (A) and Burnley (H) – it seems an appropriate time to try and change things around in an attempt to avoid a fate which some see as inevitable.
