Formula 1 Betting: Chinese Grand Prix Betting
Lewis Hamilton has set the fastest lap of Friday’s practice session for the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai. In doing so he has forced the bookmakers to shorten his price for the betting on who will win Sunday’s race where he can now be backed at a best price of 4/1 with Blue Square (Go to Blue Square »).
Last year’s Chinese Grand Prix winner and winner of the Malaysian Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel heads the betting at odds of 19/10 with Sportingbet (Go to Sportingbet »). He posted a best lap of 0.5 seconds slower than Hamilton’s, the fifth best of the day. Current World Champion Jenson Button was third fastest with a time of 1:35:593 which has made the bookmakers see fit to offer odds of 10/1 on him winning the race, a price which can be backed at Betfred (Go to Betfred »).
The constructors’ championship seems to be down to three teams now but with three races gone it is no clearer as to which of Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari have the edge. Vettel appears to have impressed the bookmakers most as far as the drivers’ championship goes; he is as short as 7/4 with Ladbrokes (Go to Ladbrokes ») despite currently occupying third place in the standings where seven drivers are separated by nine points.
