Next Celtic FC Manager Betting
Neil Lennon boosted his chances of securing the Celtic FC manager’s job on a fulltime basis by leading the Hoops to their first Old Firm SPL victory since 2008, and maintaining his 100% league record since taking over from Tony Mowbray.
Lennon is currently on an interim contract which will expire following this coming Sunday’s final game of the season away to Hearts. The Celtic board must then decide whether to keep the Northern Irishman at the helm or look to pastures new.
As far as the bookmakers are concerned it is currently a two horse race between Lennon and newly Appointed Scotland manager Craig Levein. Lennon is an 11/10 shot withWilliam Hill (Go to William Hill ») and Skybet (Go to Skybet ») , and with the Celtic players continuing to come out in support of ‘Leno’ it isn’t difficult to see why the bookmakers are not taking any chances on him getting the gig fulltime.
Levein however, would raise more than a few eyebrows, not least on Tayside, if he were to takeover at Parkhead. Having left Dundee United less than six months ago to take over the national team job it is difficult to understand why he would want to jump ship so quickly, especially for one of the Old Firm whom he has publicly voiced his distaste for in the past. Levien is 9/4 with Victor Chandler (Go to VCBet ») to take over at Celtic, but that is a bet that I expect few will be interested in.
