Spanish Grand Prix Betting Formula One
McLaren are aiming to build on their success in the Chinese Grand Prix three weeks ago and are confident that they will have at least one car on the front row for this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix. Chief engineer Tim Gross believes that “significant upgrades” will give drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton the upper hand in Spain and a boost to their chances of emulating their 1-2 finish in China.
Button now heads the Drivers Championship after coming home in front of Hamilton last month, but is still underestimated by the bookmakers and is available to back at odds of 7/1 at Blue Square (Go to Blue Square ») to win back-to-back World Championships. Hamilton, who has 11 points fewer than Button, is still considered to be McLaren’s number one and is a 10/3 shot with Bet365 (Go to Bet365 ») in the same market.
Although McLaren top the Constructors Championship on 109 points their cars have struggled slightly in qualifying. Neither Button nor Hamilton have managed to secure a starting position of higher than fourth in the four Grand Prix races to date and will be hoping that the aforementioned upgrades will have a significant impact on that aspect. Hamilton is 5/1 and Button 16/1 to take poll this weekend, both with 888Sport (Go to 888sport ») .
