Eurovision Song Contest Betting Latest
The first of the Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals took place last night in Oslo and there has been little resulting effect on the betting at the head of the market.
Bosnia & Herzegovina, Moldova, Russia, Greece, Portugal, Belarus, Serbia, Belgium, Albania and Iceland all qualified for Saturday’s final where they will be joined by the entries from United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, hosts Norway plus the ten qualifiers from tomorrow evening’s second semi-final.
In that second semi-final will be the overall favourite for Eurovision 2010 glory. Azerbaijan’s Safura will be performing her song “Drip Drop” and can be fully expectant of qualifying for the final if indeed the bookmakers are correct. Coral (Go to Coral ») make her a 5/4 chance to qualify for the final by virtue of winning semi-final 2, whilst Sportingbet (Go to Sportingbet ») are a best price of 6/4 on her winning Saturday’s grand final.
Ireland, Eurovision’s most decorated nation, will also be competing in Thursday’s semi-final and are a 1/4 shot with Bet365 (Go to Bet365 »)
to be one of the ten qualifiers and 18/1 to win the competition outright.
United Kingdom’s Josh Dubovie looks to be up against it with odds of 66/1 being offered on him emulating last year’s top four finish for Sugababe Jade Ewen.
