Premier League Transfer Rumours July 01

Since England’s premature World Cup exit things seem to be picking up pace in the summer transfer stakes, but is it just a case of the papers having to more column inches to fill with Premier League Transfer Rumours? Or are things actually beginning to hot up?

Manchester City;
City are certainly the first of the Premier League clubs to get the ball rolling on the transfer front. The capture of David Silva could be followed by James Milner whom they are expected to make an improved bid for in the coming week.

Yaya Toure is also close to completing a move from Barcelona whilst Roberto Mancini has not given up hope of securing the services of Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.

Liverpool;
Roy Hodgson has been installed as new manager at Liverpool and been given a budget of just £15million to rebuild the club into a top-four side. The transfer rumours have already begun as to who he will bring in with that money with Gilberto Silva, Brede Hangeland, Rafael van der Vaart and Danny Murphy said to be on his shopping list.

Arsenal;
The Gunners are reportedly set to move for Germany defender Per Mertesacker and midfielder Mesut Ozil, although they face stiff competition from Barcelona for the signature of the latter.

Cesc Fabregas could also end up staying in north London despite his eagerness for a move to the Nou Camp.
