Coral Eclipse Stakes Betting

Six runners have been confirmed for Saturday’s Coral Eclipse Stakes at Sandown after trainer Aidan O’Brien withdrew five of his provisional runners and Godolphin also withdrew Chabal and Jukebox Jury.

Jukebox Jury was the intended mount of Kieron Fallon but the jockey now looks to be without a ride for Saturday’s show piece race. The confirmed runners, riders and current betting odds are as follows;

1. Mawatheeq – R Hills 7/1

2. Sri Putra – P Robinson 33/1

3. Twice Over – TP Quealy 2/1

4. Zacinto – RL Moore  9/2

5. Da Re Mi – William Buick 11/4

6. Viscount Nelson – JP Murtagh 7/1

The Henry Cecil-trained Twice Over heads the betting at a best price of 2/1 with Bet365 having finished second in the Prince of Wales’ Stakes at Royal Ascot two weeks ago.

The five-year-old is owner Khaild Abdullah’s main hope of success in the race but he also has the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Zacinto running in his colours with champion jockey Ryan Moore on top.

Second favourite Da Re Mi will be running in her first race since winning the Dubai Sheema Classic back in March.

However, the race is lacking a runner of the quality of last year’s winner, Sea The Stars, whose win in the Eclipse marked was part of a fantastic 2,000 Guineas, Epsom derby and Eclipse Stakes treble. The colt has since been retired to stud.
