Premier League Transfer Rumours 07 July

When all said and done, at the end of the day, when all said and done, it’s just not cricket. Brace yourselves for the best of the day’s Premier League transfer rumour nonsense....

Liverpool;
Surprise, surprise Fernando Torres isn’t keen to start discussing his future in the hours leading up to a World Cup semi-final, The Sun today reports that the Spaniard won’t be discussing his future until after a personal holiday following the World Cup.

Arsenal;

Now that the world and his brother know who Mesut Ozil is the Daily Star are reporting that Arsenal have been trailing the 21-year-old for months and are ready to table a £20million bid for the Werder Bremen midfielder. IF true, it might be suggested that they probably should have put that bid in before the World Cup as there may be one or two other interested parties now.

Manchester United;

Manchester United have made “discreet enquiries” about Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema according to The Daily Mirror. So discreet in fact that a Daily Mirror insider was privy to this information, Sir Alex really needs to select his friends more wisely.

Manchester City;
The Daily Star have actually come up with a rather sensible solution to the whole James Milner scenario. They suggest that Martin O’Neill is resigned to losing the midfielder and could let him go to City as part of a swap deal involving Stephen Ireland and Nedum Onuoha. A fairly realistic proposition which is again based on nothing other than the supposition that both players are surplus to requirements at Eastlands.
