England v Bangladesh 1st ODI Cricket Betting

After recently securing a 3-2 ODI series victory over the team top of the ODI rankings England must now turn their attentions to the team at the bottom of the pile. Bangladesh return to English shores for a three match ODI series, and although England swept them aside in the recent Test match series Bangladesh pose a much greater threat in the shorter format of the game.

Tamim Iqbal is the danger man for the visitors, Test match hundreds at Lord’s and Old Trafford are testament to that, but he will need support from those around him if his side are to push England at any stage in this series.

Kevin Pietersen and Graeme Swann have been rested for this series and whilst the former didn’t really excel against Australia the latter will be sorely missed. Eoin Morgan will of course be a key component in Pietersen’s absence, as he is in his presence, whilst either James Tredwell or Ajmal Shahzad will deputise for Swann depending on whether Andrew Strauss opts to go for one or two spinners.

It is no surprise to see England as the very short 1/8 favourites with Totesport, but Bangladesh are capable of causing problems and if you enjoy trading on the exchanges then the 9.0 (8/1) on Betfair is certain to get shorter at some point. Otherwise a bet on Tamim Iqbal to top score for Bangladesh looks a good punt at 3/1 with Ladbrokes.
