Premier League Transfer Rumours 13 July
The World Cup may be over, but at least that means we don’t have to listen to Mark Lawrenson for another month at least. Instead we can divulge in some 100% fact based Premier League transfer rumours, you know it makes sense....
Arsenal;
Cesc Fabregas was pictured wearing a Barcelona shirt in Spain’s World Cup celebrations after teammates (that’s Spanish teammates, not Barcelona teammates) Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol pulled the shirt over the players head. However, it doesn’t appear that the two clubs are anywhere nearer to agreeing on a fee for the player meaning Fabregas could remain an Arsenal player for another 12 months yet.
Arsene Wenger has also been quoted in the Daily Mirror as saying “we are sufficiently covered in midfield,” when asked about the possibility of signing French midfielder Yoann Gourcuff. Could that also mean that Joe Cole isn’t on his way to The Emirates?
Liverpool;
If pictures of Fernando Torres donning a Liverpool scarf during Spain’s World Cup celebrations weren’t enough to raise spirits on Merseyside then perhaps the news that Real Madrid are set to drop their interests in Steven Gerrard will bring smile to Liverpudlian faces.
West Ham;
The Daily Mirror are suggesting that Mexican winger Pablo Barrera is on his way to Upton Park, subject to a work permit being (Avram) granted, and that the east end club are also closing in on the £12million signing of Nice striker Loic Remy.
