Pakistan v Australia Test Match Betting: Day 4

Pakistan have got off to a solid start in pursuit of their record run chase which Australia set them at tea yesterday. Pakistan bowled out Australia for 334 in their second innings leaving them 440 runs ahead with more than two days to chase them down.

Only four teams in the history of Test match cricket have chased down a total of more than 400 in their second innings chase. West Indies hold the record run chase after they successfully scored the 418 that they required to beat Australia in Antigua in May 2003, whilst South Africa successfully knocked off 414, again against Australia, in December 2008.

Pakistan have got off to a solid start in pursuit of their mammoth total ending yesterday’s play 114-1 with Salman Butt again looking very assured for his 58 not out.

As for the betting, with the draw almost certainly out of the equation, we have a straight bet of can Pakistan do it or not?  Sportingbet believe it is a 100/30 chance that they can whilst Stan James say 2/7 that the Australian bowlers will be able to contain them. Where is your money for what could be a historic couple of days in test match cricket?
