Petr Cech to Miss Start of Season with Injury

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech could miss the start of the Premier League season after picking up an injury in training earlier this week.

The Czech stopper missed long periods at the end of last season when Ross Turnbull and Hilario aptly deputised, and Carlo Ancelotti could be forced to call upon one of the pair for the opening game of the season against West Bromwich Albion.

Cech is reported to have gone down in agony in training on Tuesday and later found out that he had once again torn his right calf muscle. The same injury kept him out of action last season.

Chelsea start the defence to their title with a home game against West Brom followed by a trip to Wigan a week later and then at home against Stoke the following weekend.

They are a best price of 33/20 with Bodog to retain the title that they won in such emphatic style last season.
