World Matchplay Darts Betting Round Two
The World Matchplay Darts second round concludes tonight with Phil Taylor, Simon Whitlock and Gary Anderson all aiming to join James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld in the quarter-finals.
The first match of the night is Anderson versus Jelle Klaasen. Anderson breezed through his first round match against fellow Scotsman Robert Thornton winning 10-0 and inflicting the first World Matchplay whitewash for six years, Dreamboy’s doubles are usually his Achilles heel but he has been working on them in practice and reaped the rewards on Monday night.
Anderson will face much stiffer opposition from Klaasen tonight, but should still progress with a minimum amount of fuss. Make Anderson the first part of your World Matchplay double at odds of 2/5 with Paddy Power.
The second part should be Phil Taylor with a -7.5 handicap at odds of 8/11. Taylor takes on Steve Beaton after notching up the highest ever World Matchplay three-dart average in the first round against Barrie Bates. His doubling was a little suspect early on which led to a less than convincing 10-6 victory, but if he can hit those doubles then Beaton is in trouble.
Anderson to win coupled with Taylor -7.5 legs pays at 7/5 with Paddy Power.
