Sussex Stakes Betting

The Sussex Stakes take centre stage at Goodwood today on the second day of the Glorious Goodwood meeting.

Canford Cliffs is primed to go off as the odds on favourite, and at the time of writing he is currently available to back at odds of 4/5 with Sportingbet. The Richard Hannon trained horse won the St James’s Palace Stakes at Ascot last month and the Irish 2,000 Guineas at the end of May. With Richard Hughes once again on board he will take all the beating in the Sussex Stakes.

His closest challenger is expected to be the AP O’Brien trained Rip Van Winkle who won the race last year but has since suffered a dip in form. William Hill, amongst others, make him a 5/2 chance to repeat last year’s success.

Each-way punters may look to Premio Loco who won the Summer Mile Stakes at Ascot last month, Sportingbet are again a best price of 9/1 on the American horse.
