Bridgestone Invitational Golf Betting
All the big names of golf will congregate in Akron, Ohio this week to lock horns for the first time since The Open Championship at St Andrews. And although there isn’t a major title up for grabs at the Bridgestone Invitational there is the small matter of the world number one status to play for.
Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood are all vying for the opportunity to call them self the world’s number one golfer on Sunday evening. Tiger has commanded superiority within the game for such a long period of time that many of this generation’s golfers never thought that they would ever have the opportunity to overhaul him. Yet circumstances have conspired to make that a very realistic possibility, if not this week then certainly in the near future.
There are many permutations which will see each of these three men top the rankings. The simplest way of looking at is if Mickelson wins then he goes to number one regardless s of the other players’ results, Woods maintains his number one status if he wins and Westwood takes top spot if he wins and Woods doesn’t finish second.
The best odds on each of the three players are available at Betfair and are as follows;
Woods – 6.0 (5/1)
Mickelson – 15.0 (14/1)
Westwood – 16.0 (15/1)
