US PGA Championship 2010: Thick Fog Delays Start

Thick fog has delayed the start of the 2010 US PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, Wisconsin. The first tee times were due to go out at 1300 BST but officials are reporting that the start to the fourth and final major of the year will be delayed until further notice.

Once the fog has lifted and it is clear enough to play, the first tee off time will be 30 minutes henceforth from that point. Stephen Gallacher is Britain’s first representative and was due out in the second group of the day at 1310 BST.

Other notable tee times include Padraig Harrington at 1400 BST, Tiger Woods at 1420 BST and the year’s three major winners – Phil Mickelson, Graeme McDowell and Louis Oosthuizen – are out at 1935 BST.

Tiger Woods has temporarily regained favouritism in the betting with Betfair. The world number one can currently be backed at odds of 15.5, whilst Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy are hot on his heels at odds of 16.0.
