Young Boys v Tottenham Betting Preview
Tottenham travel to Switzerland to take on Young Boys in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier tonight. A win would put them firmly in the driving seat for the return leg at White Hart Lane next week as they aim to qualify for the lucrative Champions League group stages.
Young Boys, managed by Vladimir Petkovic, finished second in the Swiss Super league last season, behind FC Basel. There are few, if any, household names in the Young Boys side, but one player who is looking forward to the game more than any is English midfielder Scott Sutter. Sutter has spent his entire professional career playing in Switzerland, but is relishing the chance of playing against the club that he supported as a child.
However, if the bookmakers turn out to be correct then it is likely to be a forlorn return to north London for the 24-year-old. Victor Chandler offer a best price of 1/6 on Spurs progressing to the next round.
Tonight’s match offers up slightly more appealing odds if you are looking to back the English side; Totesport go 3/4 on Tottenham taking a lead into next week’s return leg. And if you are looking for a first goal scorer bet then Peter Crouch at 6/1 looks cracking value.
