Premier League Transfer Rumours 19 August

A roundup of all the day's Premier League transfer rumours....

Liverpool;
Manager Roy Hodgson will stand firm regarding the sale of unsettled midfielder Javier Mascherano and refuses to let him leave on the cheap. Both Inter Milan and Barcelona have shown interest in the player but neither are thought to be close to meeting Liverpool’s £25million valuation.

Manchester City;
Shay Given is thought to be ready to leave Eastlands after being told he won’t play in City’s Europa League tie against FC Timisoara. The Republic of Ireland goalkeeper is said to be considering loan moves to Fulham and Arsenal although it isn’t clear whether City would let him go to perceived rivals and so The Gunners may be out of the question.

Chelsea;
Chelsea’s move for Brazilian striker Neymar could have been scuppered by current club Santos’s promise to make him their highest paid player and their refusal to accept anything less than £29million.

The Blues are also tracking Anderlecht youngster Romelu Lukaku but face competition from Ajax for the 17-year-old’s signature.

Blackburn;

The man looking to takeover Blackburn Rovers, Ahsan Ali Syed, has said that he would like to bring David Beckham to the club should he complete his takeover and the former England captain be willing to return to the Premier League.
