World Cup 2018 Host Betting
FIFA delegates are currently touring the country inspecting the nation’s football grounds and infrastructure in advance of writing a report on England’s bid to host the 2018 World Cup.
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has claimed that England’s bid is “unbeatable” and FIFA President Sepp Blatter said: "The easiest way to organise the World Cup is to go to England. Everything is there - fans, stadiums, infrastructure - it's easy.”
The delegates arrived in England following a four-day tour of Russia in order to assess their rival bid which was concluded by a warning that Russia would need to start building immediately should they be successful.
England is the bookmakers’ favourites to be chosen to host the World Cup in 2018, with Paddy Power offering odds of 11/10 about that outcome. Russia are the second favourites at odds of 15/8, a joint bid by Portugal and Spain is a 3/1 chance, Belgium-Netherlands is 12/1 and USA 14/1.
A decision on where both the 2018 and 2022 World Cup will be held is due to be made on December 2.
