Next Aston Villa Manager Betting
With the promise of a new permanent manager being installed by the time the next Premier League game comes around in two weeks time it looks as though Kevin MacDonald has completed his probationary period as Aston Villa boss. Whether he has done enough to secure the job on a full-time basis will become clear in due course.
Villa have won two out of three Premier League games under Macdonald, but also have a 6-0 defeat blot on that copybook as well as being put out of the Europa League by Rapid Vienna.
A statement released by the Villa board yesterday evening reads: “Two of the traits we believe are of crucial importance are that candidates have experience of managing in the Premier League and a strategy for building on the existing strengths in our current squad.”
That would apparently rule out the likes of Bob Bradley, Jurgen Klinsmann and Ronald Koeman who have all been strongly linked with the job in recent weeks.
As a consequence of that statement we now have Sven Goran Eriksson heading the betting at odds of 5/1 with Ladbrokes whilst Gerard Houllier is 9/1 as one of very few other candidates who fit the above criteria.
