Lithuania v Scotland Betting Preview
It seems that these two sides meet on an annual basis these days and here it is at the start of another qualifying campaign another Scotland versus Lithuania tie. The Scots came out on top in the Euro2008 qualifiers winning the home leg 3-1 and emerging victorious by 2-1 in Lithuania.
Despite manager Craig Levein being at the helm of Scottish football since December of last year this is amazingly his first competitive match in charge. His only two other fixtures as the national team manager include a 1-0 win over Czech Republic and a 3-0 defeat to Sweden.
Now the real business starts and Levein has to prove that he can cut the mustard at the highest level. In a group that also contains Spain and Czech Republic these upcoming fixtures against Lithuania and Liechtenstein are must-win games.
Luckily for Levein he has a near-to-fully-fit squad to pick from and an in-form striker in Kenny Miller – he has five goals in three games in the SPL so far – to lead his line of attack.
It won’t be easy for Scotland in Lithuania but I like the look of the odds of 7/4 that Ladbrokes are offering about the away side. And also a dabble on Kenny Miller to get the first goal, at odds of 7/1, also looks a good bet.
