Premier League Snooker Betting: Week Two
Following a one week break for the Shanghai Masters Premier League snooker is back this Thursday evening. The action this week comes from the Plymouth Pavilion and will be screened live on Sky Sports 2.
Mark Selby v Mark Williams
The first match of the evening is between Mark Selby and Mark Williams. Both players were hugely impressive last season without really getting the number of tournament successes that their play perhaps deserved. Williams won the China Open and Selby The Masters but neither could mount a sustained challenge at either the Worlds or UK Championships.
Selby looks to have picked up where he left off last season by winning a Players Tour Championship event and reaching the semi-final of the Shanghai Masters. Williams has also won a Players Tour Championship event but didn’t quite flow in Shanghai last week. Stan James price Selby as the 11/8 favourite with both the draw and Williams available to back at 2/1.
Ronnie O’Sullivan v Ding Junhui
Ronnie O’Sullivan withdrew from the Shanghai Masters last week due to personal problems; Ding Junhui will probably wish he had done the same. Whilst O’Sullivan was resting it up at home Ding was wrestling with his game and needed to come back from 4-1 down against wildcard qualifier Jin Long in the first round before being swept aside by Jamie Cope in the second round.
He went to Shanghai on the back of a 5-1 defeat against Shaun Murphy in the opening week of the Premier League and his summer of discontent – he has had multiple issues regarding a UK visa – seems to be taking its toll.
Betfred offer odds of 21/20 on O’Sullivan here and that looks to be one of the best bets
