Stephen Maguire v Judd Trump World Open Snooker Betting
Judd Trump takes on Stephen Maguire this evening for a place in the last 16 of snooker’s World Open. The short format hasn’t thrown up as many surprises as had been predicted but it is hard to determine what outcome here would constitute a shock.
Trump has long since been touted as the up and coming English player in snooker, but has yet to fulfil that promise on the bigger stages. Maguire has slipped down the rankings in recent years and now resides at number seven in the world having previously flirted with the number one spot.
The two have only met on one previous occasion and that was at the recent Shanghai Masters. Maguire won that match 5-3. The Scot then went on to confirm his sketchy form by going out to Mark Davis in the next round.
This shorter format will certainly suit trump and at the slightly bigger odds of 11/10 with Boyle Sports it is worth siding with the youngster in this one.
