Ronnie OSullivan v Jimmy White World Open Snooker Betting
Ronnie O’Sullivan has long since been the snooker equivalent of marmite; you either love him or you hate him. One thing that has never been in dispute is his genius on a snooker table. Whether you applaud or deplore his arrogance you cannot help but marvel at the brilliance of his 147 against Mark King in the last round.
Ever since that victory snooker fans have been looking forward to his round of 32 match against people’s champion Jimmy White. The loveable rogue of the late 80s and early 90s plays the loveable rogue of the late 90s to date.
This is by far Jimmy’s biggest match for a long time and he now plays most of his snooker away from the television screens, and so it is no surprise to see Ronnie as the clear favourite in the betting – 1/4 with Betfred. But despite all his brilliance there are more than a few chinks in the armour of the man that they call The Rocket, if (that’s a big if) White can capitalise on them then he could cause an upset in this short format at odds of 11/4.
Whatever the outcome, this is a match which is certain to capture the imagination of snooker fans and perhaps even farther afield.
