Scotland v Spain Euro2012 Betting

There was real belief in Scotland that when Craig Levein took over the future of the nations football team were in the right hands. So far, those beliefs appear to have been grossly misplaced.

The signs were there after a disappointing 0-0 draw in Lithuania was followed by a last gasp 2-1 win over Liechtenstein last month. But the four points on the board and the sight of Scotland topping the Group I table at an embryonic stage were enough to at least temporarily push the voices of revolt to one side.

However, an uninspiring 1-0 defeat in the Czech Republic in which Levein opted to play a 4-6-0 formation has left the Scots scratching their heads. Tonight’s fixture against Spain offers little hope of getting things on track, but Scotland do have a track record of causing upsets against the bigger nations.

Boyle Sports make Spain 2/5 to take all three points tonight, with the draw priced at 16/5 and a Scotland win at 8/1. Scotland can take solace from the fact that Lithuania held the World and European champions at 0-0 until half time on Friday, although they did ultimately run out as comfortable 3-1 winners.

David Villa is just 4/6 to add to his impressive International tally this evening and strike partner Fernando Llorente is Even money to add to the two he scored against Lithuania. It promises to be another night of rearguard action from Scotland.
