Cheltenham Gold Cup Betting 2011
The last three winners of the Cheltenham Gold Cup line up against one another in the big race today.
Imperial Commander heads the market and is a 9/2 chance, with Bet365, to retain his Gold Cup crown and join an illustrious list of horses to have won this race in consecutive years that includes Best Mate, Arkle and Golden Miller.
Kauto Star is priced at 15/2 to win his third Gold Cup, four years on from winning his first while stablemate Denman is also 15/2 to become only the second horse ever – Kauto Star being the first – to regain the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
New kid on the block Long Run is second favourite in the betting at odds of 5/1, but his lack of course form is seen as a major negative to many punters.
Champion jockey AP McCoy will be aboard 9/1 chance Kempes and Paul Nicholls’ trio of entries is completed by What A Friend at odds of 33/1.
It promises to be an intriguing and enthralling race and a fitting end to what has been, as ever, a magical Cheltenham Festival.
