Taylor draws Barney on Premier League Darts opening night
Phil 'The Power' Taylor will begin the defence of his Premier League Darts crown against Raymond van Barneveld on Thursday at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.The 14-time world champion, who won the Players Championship on Sunday night, will meet his old foe in the last match of the evening and will be hoping for a repeat of his victory over the Dutchman in this year's World Championship.Taylor has won all four previous Premier Leagues and is odds on to make it five in a row at the bookmakers in 2009.Barneveld is the second favourite, followed by world number two James Wade, who will take on John Part on the opening night.Wade finished runner-up to Taylor in the final of last year's competition.The other matches taking place on Thursday are Jelle Klaasen v Terry Jenkins and Mervyn King v Wayne Mardle, who is the rank outsider to take the title.
