Giro d'Italia 'will show Armstrong form'
The Giro d'Italia is the race to watch for those wondering whether to have a punt on Lance Armstrong for this year's Tour de France. At least this is the suggestion of Johan Bruyneel, team manager for Astana, who stated that while Armstrong has looked good in the lead up to cycling's biggest event, it is the sport's second most prestigious race that will provide a true test of his form."I don't think we can know how far he can get in the Tour until the end of the Giro d'Italia," he told reporters. "We don't know how he's going to recover."Armstrong won the Tour de France every year between 1999 and 2005 before retiring from the sport. He announced he was to make a comeback last year and 2009 will mark the first time he has competed in the Grio d'Italia. In the cycling betting he is the second favourite to win each race.
