Higgins takes semi-final lead
World Snooker Championship favourite John Higgins has taken the lead in his semi-final against Mark Allen.The Scot reached the last four after fighting back to beat Mark Selby 13-12 - having gone 12-11 behind.And he took a 3-1 lead over Allen going into the mid-session interval, after which a break of 41 brought the Northern Irishman back within a single frame.Higgins responded by hitting 141 in the sixth and went on to clinch the final two frames - giving himself a 6-2 overnight lead.He is now 8/11 favourite with Ladbrokes to win his third title, while Allen - who beat world number one Ronnie O'Sullivan in the second round - is priced 12/1.In the other semi-final, Shaun Murphy and Neil Robertson are locked at 4-4 after their opening session.Murphy twice took a two-frame lead, but on both occasions the Australian battled back to level proceedings.
