Rugby League Odds Affected By Cunningham Contract?
The odds of St Helens securing the Super League title may have been boosted by the announcement that Keiron Cunningham has signed a one-year contract. Putting off plans of retirement until 2010, the club's captain confirmed he is ready for another 12 months of rugby league action.
He remarked: "I'm feeling mentally and physically strong enough to play at the peak of my game for St. Helens for another season."
According to the 32-year-old hooker, he will then look to quit the game at the "very top both for me and for the club".
Saints' chairman Eamonn McManus said the penning of the deal is a positive outcome, noting Cunningham as a "critical" player for the team's campaign this season.
Those looking to put money on St Helens can find them at 2/1 with Skybet(Go to Skybet ») to win the Super League this year.
Leeds are currently considered the favourites, with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports ») offering odds of 11/10.
