Schumi: Odds Are Good Button Will Be 2010 F1 Champion
Michael Schumacher has revealed that it is unlikely Brawn GP driver Jenson Button will relinquish his lead at the top of the Formula One World Championship table. According to the German, who has won the title himself on seven occasions, the stage looks set for the British racer to clinch the 2010 title.
"Looking at the situation, I would pretty much expect Jenson to win this title," he remarked.
Button is currently 14 points ahead of his teammate Rubens Barrichello, while the Red Bull duo Sebastien Vettel and Mark Webber languish 26 points behind.
"It's very hard to take it away from him [Button]," Schumacher continued, adding that the Red Bull team's "reliability issues" will compound the advantage.
There are now five races left to go, with the Singapore Grand Prix scheduled for this Sunday (September 27th).
Button goes into the event as an 11/2 shot with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports »), while fellow Brit and McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton is Sportingbet's(Go to Sportingbet »)
favourite at odds of 5/2.
