Rugby League Betting - Giants Odds Better With Cording?

Huddersfield Giants have signed 20-year-old Jamie Cording on a short-term deal.

The Yorkshire side, who were third in the 2009 Super League, will have the back-row player for one-year under a part-time contract, with the former Gateshead star given several months to impress during the off-season as he seeks a permanent stay at the club.

Damian McGrath, head of youth performance at the Giants, said he is "looking forward" to seeing what Cording can do in the coming weeks.

"We became aware of Jamie's availability and it has given us the chance to take a closer look at a player who has all the attributes to prosper," he told the team's official website.

Despite the signing, Huddersfield are not expected to improve on this year's performance and win the 2010 Super League Grand Final at the bookmakers.

They are the joint fifth favourites to take the title at 14/1 with Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes »), while reigning champions Leeds Rhinos are expected to retain their crown at 11/10 with Betfred(Go to Betfred »).
