Snooker Betting - Maguire Reaches UK Championship Semi-finals

World number two Stephen Maguire is one of the bookmakers' favourites to win the Pukka Pies UK Championship after proceeding to the semi-finals.

Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») currently has the Scot at 4/1 to lift the trophy, following a 9-5 victory against Peter Lines yesterday (December 9th).

Maguire led his opponent 6-2 once the first session was completed and looked to be cruising into the next round when he landed the opening frame of the second period.

However, Lines made a spirited comeback by clinching the next three frames to bring the score to 7-5.

Leeds-based qualifier Lines was featuring in only his second ranking quarter-final in ten years after beating Mark Williams 9-8 in the preceding round, but was unable to topple Maguire who closed the match by winning the last two frames.

Of the remaining players in the tournament, Ronnie O'Sullivan is currently the favourite, with WBX(Go to WBX ») offering odds of 199/100 on him landing the title.
