Formula One Betting - Button 'faces Tough 2010'
World Champion Jenson Button could be facing a "difficult" challenge next year after defecting from Brawn to McLaren, the chief executive of Mercedes has stated. Nick Fry told autosport.com that entering a team where Lewis Hamilton has been the main driver for a while may be hard.
Speaking at the Motor Sports Business Forum in Monaco, he said: "In my experience in Formula One, for a new driver to come into any team takes months or even most of the first season to really understand the lay of the land."
According to Fry, while Button has the skills and talent to do very well, he will have to work diligently to forge a place in the new team.
Mercedes GP took over Brawn GP recently and despite Button moving to McLaren, the new boss claimed there are no hard feelings towards the 29-year-old Brit.
Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») currently has Button's chances of retaining his 2009 glory at 11/2, while his new teammate Lewis Hamilton is considered next season's favourite to win at 9/4 with William Hill(Go to William Hill »).
