Rosberg Quickest In The Wet
The Mercedes team have come out on top at the latest Formula One pre-season test, with Nico Rosberg recording the fastest time on a wet first day. Held in Jerez, Spain the practice run saw Rosberg clock up a one minute 20.927 second lap before the rain crept in, which other drivers failed to beat, leaving him 0.104 seconds ahead of Toro Rosso's Sebastien Buemi.
The 24-year old German said he was happier with the performance of his vehicle today than he had been at an earlier training session in Valencia.
He remarked: "The car felt very good today Compared to Valencia where I was sitting too low, which affected my visibility and the set-up wasn't perfect."
Rosberg will now hand over the reigns to teammate Michael Schumacher, who will be driving today (February 11th).
Despite his good form, Rosberg is considered a 22/1 shot to win this year's Formula One World Championship with bookmakers Betfred(Go to Betfred ») and Betfair(Go to Betfair »).
