Webber: New Teams Make F1 A Joke
Mark Webber has described the situation with new teams entering Formula One for this year's World Championship as "embarrassing". The Red Bull driver blasted the sport for allowing some participants to enter the season-opening Grand Prix in Bahrain without even testing their cars.
While four fresh organisations are set to hit the track in 2010, only two have taken part in assessments of their vehicles before this year's campaign gets underway.
"It's embarrassing," Webber remarked. "It's incredible that people who haven't yet turned a wheel take part in Grand Prix."
The Australian went further still, likening the situation to something out of Mickey Mouse or Tom and Jerry.
Virgin Racing and Lotus look set to compete for the 2010 World Championship, however USF1 and Campos Meta - renamed Hispania Racing - are reported to be experiencing financial problems.
Webber is currently offered at odds of 12/1 with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports ») and Totesport(Go to Totesport ») to lift this year's trophy.
