Castleford Odds Affected By Ferres Injury?
Castleford rugby league player Brett Ferres will miss out on playing for his team for up to three months because of surgery. Ferres hurt his shoulder in the Tigers' 24-20 defeat to Hull KR at the weekend and underwent an operation to fix the damage.
Former Bradford second-rower Ferres joins a number of other Castleford players on the sidelines, with Dean Widders out with a knee problem and Richard Owen suffering a broken leg.
Commenting on the development, the club's coach Terry Matterson admitted it is "a big blow".
"He's an integral part of our team and it comes on the back of Dean and Richie's injuries," Matterson added.
According to the trainer, it seems like there is a new injury within the side each week, but he admitted that it is all part of the sport.
The news is unlikely to do the club any favours with the bookmakers and William Hill(Go to William Hill ») and Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») already ranking their chances of winning the Super League at the end of this campaign at 100/1.
