Contador 'rides To The Front'

Alberto Contador won the fourth stage of the Paris to Nice race to climb to the top of the leaderboard.

The 27-year-old leads the race by 24 seconds from Alejandro Valverde, as he continues his preparations for this year's Tour de France.

Contador admitted that it had been a difficult day, but he was happy to be in the lead.

"I wasn't sure what the best tactics were but I tried and made the difference. Now, the race is on but there are still three difficult days ahead," he added.

The Spaniard is now 1/7 on to win the title with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») , who make Roman Kreuziger the second favourite at 8/1.

When the Tour de France starts on July 3rd Contador will be coming up against his old rival Lance Armstrong.

The seven-times winner will be looking to build on his third place finish from last year's race and is available from Betfred(Go to Betfred ») at 10/1 to triumph.
