Rhinos Lose Watkins For Season
Reigning champions Leeds Rhinos have been handed a blow to the defence of their Super League title after it was revealed that Kallum Watkins will miss the rest of the season. The 18-year-old winger ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and is the fourth player they have lost to a long-term injury this season, following Carl Ablett, Scott Donald and Greg Eastwood.
However, despite the setback - and the fact they have been beaten in three of their opening six games - the odds of them lifting the trophy again are 6/4 with 888Sport(Go to 888sport »).
Leeds coach Brian McClennan noted that he is confident Watkins will make a full recovery after picking up such a bad injury early in his career.
"Having spoken to Kallum, he is prepared to use this as a challenge to overcome to help him become a better player," he added.
Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») make St Helens 6/4 to finish top of the league in the regular term.
