Doherty 'looking Forward' To The Crucible
Ken Doherty is confident that he can give Mark Selby a run for his money in this year's World Championship. The 1997 winner heads to Sheffield after missing the 2009 event because he failed to qualify and the bookmakers have him as an outside shot.
Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») is offering odds of 80/1 on the Irishman, while Betfred(Go to Betfred ») make Ronnie O'Sullivan the favourite for the event at 4/1.
Writing in his betfair column, the Darling of Dublin revealed that his game is in good shape, stating: "I'm cueing the ball really well."
He remarked that he faces a tough draw, which could see him play Stephen Hendry and then O'Sullivan should he get past Selby.
Doherty revealed that he intends "go out and enjoy [himself]", adding: "There's no pressure on me."
He believes that John Higgins is the favourite for the title due to the easier draw he faces and the reigning champion is 9/2 with Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») to add another trophy to his cabinet.
