Michael Schumacher 'should Not Be Underestimated'
Bernie Ecclestone has backed Michael Schumacher's return to Formula One, insisting that he will win a race soon. The German legend has only registered ten points in four outings since coming back to the sport after three years away.
Due to this poor start, he has drifted to 50/1 with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») to win the world championship, while his Mercedes GP team are 25/1 with Betfred(Go to Betfred ») to claim the constructors' title.
But Ecclestone thinks that he should not be underestimated, adding: "He's not a tourist in the paddock, he's here to win and he will again. Give him time to adapt to the new car and the new tyres."
He added that because of the vast rule changes since his last appearance, he is a relative newcomer once more and it will take time for him to get accustomed to everything again.
The pressure on Schumacher has been increased because his teammate, Nico Rosberg, is sitting second in the standings.
