Portsmouth expected to sack Adams
Portsmouth will officially announce later today (February 9th) that Tony Adams will no longer be their manager, according to reports. The 42-year-old has overseen 16 Premier League games with Pompey, but has managed just two wins, with their latest defeat coming 3-2 at home to Liverpool on Saturday.Portsmouth had looked on course to win the game, but goals in the 85th and 90th minutes by Dirk Kuyt and Fernando Torres respectively put pay to their ambitions. The result leaves Portsmouth in 16th place in the table, two points away from the bottom and one point away from the relegation zone. They are now the fourth favourites to go down this season in the football betting, behind West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and Middlesbrough.Avram Grant is the favourite to be the next Portsmouth manager at the bookmakers, ahead of Alan Curbishley, Glen Hoddle, Gus Poyet, Joe Jordan and Sven Goran Eriksson.
