Ankle injury rules Torres out
Liverpool will be without their star striker for tonight's Premier League fixture against Sunderland.Fernando Torres has been ruled out of the match after failing to recover from an ankle injury. However, the Reds - who have slipped to third in the table and are seven points behind leaders Manchester United - may well be bolstered by captain Steven Gerrard who is expected to be fit.Boss Rafa Benitez told the club's official website: "Stevie was ok and will hopefully be available tomorrow. "Torres is not ready yet. We have to wait to see how he progresses but he won't be in the squad."Liverpool suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at the weekend to Middlesborough which saw them slip further away from United - who have a game in hand - while a reinvigorated Chelsea crept up to second on goal difference.Punters can get odds of 17/2 for Sunderland to cause a similar upset to Boro and leave Anfield victorious tonight.
