Gallas set to miss rest of the season

A knee injury is likely to keep Arsenal defender William Gallas out for the rest of the season, manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed. The former captain suffered ligament damage during the 1-1 Champions League draw at Villareal on Tuesday - one of three players hurt during the game."Gallas is a quick recoverer but we think he will be short to come back before the end of the season," said Wenger, adding: "It's a big, big blow."Arsenal travel to face Wigan Athletic in the Premier League on Saturday and will also be without goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and defender Gael Clichy. The former is expected to be out of action for three weeks with ankle damage, while the latter is likely to miss two weeks due to a back problem.Arsenal's odds of winning the Champions League came in after they secured a vital away goal in their first-leg tie, with Victor Chandler now rating them at 4/1.
