USA make finals of Confederations Cup
After getting through to the semi-finals on goal difference, USA have made the finals of the Confederations Cup by beating Spain 2-0.European champions Spain, who had not conceded a goal throughout the tournament, went one down after 27 minutes from a Jozy Altidore strike. Another goal from Fulham striker Clint Dempsey on 74 minutes clinched victory for the side and ended Spain's world record 35-match unbeaten run. US coach Bob Bradley said: "It's exciting, a great team effort. To beat an amazing team like Spain and make the final, it's big." He also remarked that the team had "played as hard as they could", with every player making a contribution. The victory means USA will now meet either Brazil or hosts South Africa in the final on Sunday.
