Rafa fancies Liverpool's chances

Rafael Benitez has suggested that Liverpool will have a number of opportunities to succeed in the Premier League this season due to better cohesion in the squad. The Reds manager said the team is more knowledgeable, which is vital to being victorious. He remarked: "It may be more difficult next season now but experience is so important and we have more than in the past … The understanding between our players is much better." Benitez also questioned the motives of Gareth Barry - who was linked to a move to Anfield before transferring to Manchester City - alleging the player made his choice purely for the money. Attracting top-quality athletes is good, he added, but passion is the most vital component. Liverpool were runners up in the Premier League last year and are currently 11/4 to win the title this coming season at William Hill (Go to William Hill »). Manchester United are considered favourites to retain their title with 888Sport (Go to 888sport ») offering odds of 15/8.
