Ballack faces injury concerns
Carlos Ancelotti has confirmed that Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has sustained an injury during the team's World Football Challenge tour in America. The German international has damaged his foot and has been flown home to receive treatment. Ancelotti told the club's official website: "Ballack yesterday took a knock on the toe, but everybody else is okay and didn't have injuries in this period." The Chelsea manager also commented that Russian defender Yuri Zhirkov would not be eligible for selection in the team's upcoming match against Inter Milan in California due to work permit delays. Serious damage could rule the 32-year-old German out of the Community Shield against Manchester United on the August 9th and the London-based side's opening Premier League match against Hull City on the 15th of the same month. Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») currently has Chelsea as evens to defeat Inter Milan in their World Football Challenge game tomorrow (July 22nd).
